Oh baby when you're feeling blue ....
3 strategies for shaking off Monday morning moodiness.
1) Eat an apple. Did you know that you can train yourself to like apples? I recently heard a story about a researcher who found that regardless of any other changes, if a person ate an apple before their meal they lost weight. They also received a whole host of other heath benefits. He was just a lab assistant but had been subsisting on potato chips and snacks from the vending machine. When he saw the results he wanted to give it a try. One problem though... he hated apples! He decided to eat the apples anyway and over time generated not only a liking for apples but preferences for varieties. We can alter our taste buds by what we choose to eat. Apples just SEEM heathy. All that pectin. .... pat self on back for adding an apple to your diet today. Also mmmm crunchy.
2) Work out. Maybe you didn't plan for it, but adding a work out to the morning routine, even if it's ten minutes (or one song!) of dancing can make a HUGE difference! It gets our blood and endorphins flowing so we can focus. Jumping up and down and shaking the body vigorously for a few moments can totally change or state.
3) Express yourself. Take a moment to share what's on your mind or in your heart with a friend. Or express creatively however you do it. I'm a singer so I sing. Or I use social media to REALLY connect. What are your ways to shake it off or feel it all when your emotions get big and you want to focus?
